First Thanksgiving

So, I'm just now getting around to blogging about our Thanksgiving holiday. We spent it at my parents lakehouse. We went down early to get settled in before my dad's family arrived. I felt like we were moving in... we must have packed everything we owned... just in case!

We took the cats with us since it was going to be a long trip. So, that added to the things we had to pack. The cats look like they're having fun... don't they?!

We did get settled in and really had a wonderful time. Brad and my dad both caught fish.

Here's us trying to stay warm while everyone fished.
We went on nature walks and saw all kids of stuff. We saw hawks, fish, turtles, wild pigs and even a coyote! The coyote walked right by the house. I tried to get a better picture when it was closer but... my camera sucks! It was really cool... and Lincoln just loves being outside!!

Thanksgiving came and all our family was there (on my dad's side). We had a really great time visiting with everyone. They were so happy to get to finally meet Lincoln. Lincoln enjoyed himself as you can tell...

Everyone stayed the night at a hotel in town. That allowed them to come back the next day for lunch (except for the twins). I hate that we only get together once a year!!!!!!!!

We finally made it home... settled in and are back to our normal routine....

THANKS MOM AND DAD FOR AN AMAZING FIRST THANKSGIVING!!

Oh, what a joy....

So, it's been awhile since I've blogged and so much has been going on!

Lincoln is 4 months old! Boy, does time fly! He is so much fun!!! What has he been up to? He "talks" so much now. He has also started squealing... as loud as he can, which he gets a kick out of doing! He's still putting everything into his mouth. The drool is so abundant that we now keep a bib on him all the time just to try and keep his clothes and skin dry!! When that first tooth appears I know I will shed some tears!! And, at last... sweet, sweet giggles. We finally got a good video of him laughing. I'm going to attempt to load to this blog. Let's see how that goes....

My favorite photo!

So, obviously Lincoln has reached that stage where anything that goes in his hands goes in his mouth... or anything in the vicinity of his mouth ends up in his mouth. Um, that's dad's arm... Lincoln kinda fell forward and decided he might as well gnaw on daddy's arm while he was there!

Another Busy Weekend

This past weekend was our first trip back to Houston. We went back so that Lincoln could meet his Gramma and PopPop (Brad's mom and stepdad) for the first time. We left early Friday... around the time Lincoln would be ready for his first nap. He slept the entire way to Houston. We did stop for lunch and he nursed... but, then right back to sleep. So, it was a pleasent drive. We had a very good visit. Lincoln met a lot of people that weekend. Here are some photos:

A very busy weekend

So, this past weekend was a busy one for us. It started with Brad coming home Friday night instead of Thursday night, like usual. Saturday morning I went and had my hair cut... and I mean cut! I've had long hair for... mmm, a very long time. Maybe a short do in elementary and I know I cut it short sometime around 2000. Who could forget that... what a mistake!!!! I've been nervous to cut it short ever since. Plus, I've always liked having long hair, thought I looked better with long hair and would always get complements on my long hair. But, at last... I cut it all off. I've always worn it up for work... so much so that when kids draw pictures of me they draw me with my hair in a "bun." Well, now that Lincoln's here and he's in the bed with us at night I wear my hair up 24/7... bad, very bad for the hair. I've been pulling handfuls of my hair out. So, off it went. I saved it and will send it to Locks of Love. You know, it didn't turn out too bad. THANK GOODNESS!!!!

After my hair cut Brad, Lincoln and I watched the Texas/ OU game. GO LONGHORNS!!!!!

Then, we went to visit our friends Michelle, Jimmy and Jadon. They just had their second baby boy... Torin. And, he's ADORABLE!! Michelle's amazing. She gave birth at home without any drugs. Everything was perfect. We couldn't be happier for them!! I can't wait for our little ones to get a little older and have play dates!!!!!

Sunday we went to the arboretum. The weather was great. And, everything was beautiful. They had tons of pumpkins... everywhere. We walked around enjoying nature. We took a few "first" fall photos. We'll definitely be spending more time there!

After the arboretum we met my parents out at their soon to be retirement house about an hour away. It's on a lake... yippie!!!! It's really coming along. They plan on moving at the beginning of November. We can't wait!!!

The first meal in the new house... hot dogs!

We're trying to stay warm... it's cool and windy out on the pier!

Daddy playing in the lake!

Poor baby... passed out in the car after his busy weekend!

Attention all scrapbookers!!

Those of you that know me well know that I'm a scrapbooker. Scrapbooking is a beautiful, creative and fun way to catalog all those precious moments. You can capture any event you'd like to remember forever... wedding, honeymoon, trips, holidays, your child's life. I was drawn to it because it not only allows you to creatively display pictures but gives you a chance to journal. You can write down the who, what, where and when... and the story behind it all.

So, while I was in the hospital on bed rest one of the nurses walked in while I was opening a gift that we had received from a family member. It happened to include some scrapbooking supplies. The nurse asked if I was a scrapbooker. I said yes. Then she went on to tell me about scrapbooking that you can do on your computer! The software is offered by Creative Memories. And, let me tell you... it's wonderful! If you're a busy person with little time this is for you. It use to take me forever to produce just one page. You have to print out your pictures, go to the store, browse to get ideas, look for all that you need, and then create the page. Of course, how long a page takes depends on how elaborate the page is that you make. Simple page, little time. Elaborate page, a lot of time. But, with Creative Memories everything you need is right there on your computer. Now, you are limited on what you can do. But, when you have limited time... you make the sacrifice! When you're all finished you can print the pages yourself or they print it out and mail it to you.

Now that Lincoln is here there is no way I'd ever get another scrapbook done! This has really been a timer saver for me!!! I wanted to show you a few of my pages but can't figure out how to get them on here. So, I went to Creative Memories and used a few of theirs... they are way better than mine. Hm, I gotta figure out how they do that....
